Listen up!

  • The team’s current point total is 68

  • Perks must be cashed in before January 22nd at 11:59pm

  • After the 22nd, points will be evenly spread among the candidates. Any remaining/uneven points will be given to those in order of date registered

  • If you’re a poor swimmer, you can bring a pool noodle for the 0.5mi swim at the springs

  • There will not be a bonus lap since we’ve gotta get started immediately when the park opens

  • Currently going to be warm with some rain in the morning. Better bring plenty of water!

  • New item to the team mandatory gear: can of vienna sausage

  • Your ruck and body will be weighed to assure compliance with the weight requirement

  • We’ve got a campsite reserved for the night before. Four spots remain open for that and it’s free of charge. Your ‘payment’ will be bringing a little food for your cadre and putting the tents up in the morning.

Just in case you don't want to watch an hour long video...

Individuals need each of the following:

·         Swim Goggles/Mask (or any way to see underwater clearly)

·         Gloves

·         Red Solo Cup (standard size) with a line drawn exactly 1.5in below the lid on the interior, all the way around

·         Four safety pins

·         Metal spoon

·         Headlamp

·         Reflective band or glowstick for your ruck

·         Picture that embodies your biggest goal of 2020 (it may get roughed up or get wet so you may want to have a way to protect the picture)

Team must have one of the following:

·         Team weight exceeding 40lbs

·         A laminated picture of BIG CHUNGUS

·         Two cans of Bang energy drink (blue or purple)

·         Laminated picture of Charlie Day or Bob Saget with everybody’s name signed on the back titled “T3 January 2019”

Be at the gate of the park no later than 7:50am, in line and ready to get in ASAP.  The park opens at 8am and there is an entry fee to the park, so carpooling is encouraged!  You want to park around the volleyball field that is located right at the parking zone.  Have your gear in front of you while you’re standing arms-length apart in order of age.  For every five minutes after 8:15am that the team is not assembled in the manner, there will be a 30 burpee penalty added.  If the park opens late, the time difference will be credited.  Be ready to get wet right away.  Obviously this means that you need to have everything in your car setup so that you can just get your gear out and immediately be ready to go so plan accordingly.

Challenge 7 - Friendship!

This challenge requires you to reach out to your friends this time! The concept is simple, get a friend who is NOT registered to submit a video doing 20 8-count bodybuilders or a two minute plank. During their exercise they must say who the video is for (so we know who to give the point to) and why they think that their friend has what it takes to finish the T3!

As an added bonus, if the person registers then both people will each get a bonus point.

Better make the decision quick, though. Class size is capped at 20 and only eight spots remain. Only one submission per person.

Vital information revealed!

Hopefully you’ve got an hour to kill to absorb it all, but all of the vital information you need to know about this T3 is addressed in the below video. Good luck… and quit now.

Geography Test Revealed!

Happy New Year!

Now it’s time to start studying. You have 25 days to learn all 50 countries listed in this blank map. There are special rules, of course.

europe-blank-map-hd.jpg

Just in case it’s unclear which ones are to be counted, see below for the 50 marked areas

Euro-Marked.png

On to those special rules. Now, we know that one or two super smart people could name the entire map… but where’s the fun in that? So here’s some valuable bulletpoints for this test.

  • The maximum amount of countries somebody can name is 10. If you don’t know any, just pass to the next person.

  • Be 100% sure you’re correct. Once you mark a country, your answer is final and nobody can fix it.

  • To make sure people get this right, the penalty for failing this test will be severe. The team must score a 100% on this.

The trivia subject, mandatory gear list, team points and vital venue information will be released sometime this week. Check your email for those announcements. The class has a limit of 20, which we’re currently at 11 or 12 people. If you plan on bringing a friend, you’d best get them registered ASAP.

If you’ve got a campsite reserved for the venue, please let us know. We’re limited on the places we can visit after hours at the park and having a campsite broadens our play area. Otherwise this will be a shorter T3 with the punishment being dished out much faster…

Behind the scenes updates

Course agenda is about 90% complete and the gear list is about finished as well.
Try to reserve a campsite the night before if you want to get setup early before the gates open, but as of now there’s no sites available. If you have a site already reserved…. LET US KNOW.

Instructors for this event are pretty much finalized, too! Yes, plural…

If we can’t stay at the park much longer than sunset, there will be shorter breaks and much more pain packed into a shorter timeframe. If we have a campsite reserved, then we can stay in the camp area after hours and the tempo of the event may be a little more relaxed.

Maybe.

Learn to operate in chaos. The next month will be deliberately confusing and loaded with information. Enjoy.

Challenge 6 - Happy New Year!

This challenge takes no physical skill whatsoever, yay!

All you need to do is post a live video in the events page while the ball drops from 2019 to 2020. After you’re in the new decade, briefly state in the video what your endurance goals are for 2020.

That’s it! Once you get that done you earn a point!

EDIT: If you don’t have FB access, you can post a video after the fact. That’s fine.

Challenge 5 - The twelve days of ruckmas

This one is going to be tough, but if you do it you'll be much more capable of handling what this T3 can dish out to you.

As hinted by the title, this one is agonizingly simple.

A twelve mile ruck.

Simply take a couple pictures of you doing it and obviously track the ruck and have it posted in the proper channels before 2020 and you'll net yourself one point.

Do it before Christmas and you'll earn two points!

Challenge 4 - Scavenger hunt!

One of the most favorite challenges of all time… the scavenger hunt! The rules are simple. Get a video of yourself doing 30 burpees in front of the following landmarks:

  • A white gazebo

  • The ocean

  • State park entrance

  • A statue that has an animal in it

  • University entrance

  • A car that’s older than 30 years

  • (New registrants only) in front of your screen with your registration confirmation

  • Somewhere with live music playing in the background

The due date for this challenge is January 2nd at noon. There are eight total locations, and one person can only submit one of these and it cannot be repeated by anyone else. Here are the rewards based on the amount of locations submitted:

3: 1 point per teammate

5: 1 point per teammate

6: Trivia subject and geography test reveal

7: One random perk (except stress card) will have its cost reduced by 50%

8: 1 point per teammate

Rewards will be given as soon as submissions arrive. As always, if you don’t have access to the Facebook event page to submit your challenges, you can always upload them to youtube and submit via email.

Big News!

The big news is that there will be a big news update later on in a video.

Hint: You will like this news. Maybe.

A little incentive…

If three more people submit their challenge #3 and one more challenge #2 by Saturday at Noon… some big information about this particular T3 will be released.

If not… you have to wait another two weeks before hearing it.

Challenge #3 - Lap Two Practice

If there’s two things that are always constant at a T3 it is that there is copious amounts of suffering, and that lap two is comprised of a six mile run. In order to make sure people are at least capable of that, your third challenge will be simple…

  • Run six miles

  • OCRs don’t count

  • Post the result in the event page, as usual

  • No treadmill

  • Challenge is due before Thanksgiving.

Notice how you are tasked to run. That means keep a pace that holds your heart rate over the 140 range if you’re able to track your HR. No breaks, just solid running.

Challenge #2 - ice ice baby!

Time to get a little frosty!

This challenge has no due date, as the water temps in Florida can be a little dependant on the one day of winter we get.

Here's the breakdown.

• Video yourself in ice cold water at shoulder length. You may use obstacles at races like Savage race and tough mudder for this.

• Water must be colder than 60 degrees

• For at least 30 seconds you must be immersed in the water.

• Tell us about yourself in the video! What was the hardest challenge you've ever done? What are your goals? Be creative!

• Completing this challenge will net you a sweet THREE points!

Challenges unlocked!

Five brave souls have now registered for the T3!
That means at random times of random days of the week, you can expect to see pre-game challenges posted here.

Good luck!
